Before Hire Collection: 

You will need to provide for insurance purposes

Please bring with you 2 Household bills with name and address dated no more than 90 days prior to the hire. We will take copies of these.

Please bring your driving licence for us to take copies of.

Share your driving license by providing a code through the DVLA https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence You will need your driving licence number and National Insurance number. The DVLA will provide a code that enabled us to check your licence. Please share this with us by text to Paul on 07761515589 before collection.

More than seven days prior to hire day, full refund of deposit. 

Less than seven days, 50% refund. Less than 24 hours, no refund. 

Refunds will exclude a £5 handling fee for bank charges.

As the Hirer/Driver you must be aged between 25 - 75, you must have held a full UK driving licence for 2 years or more and have no more than 6 points on your driving licence; You must not have had insurance refused or declined and must not have had an insurance policy cancelled; You must not have had any non-motoring convictions; You must not have had  more than one at fault accident.

No other persons are permitted to drive the horsebox

Happy Horse Box Hire reserves the right to cancel your hire at any time and will not be liable for the cost of lost entry fees or any other loss of Hirer's or any other linked persons' expenses  due to the cancellation of the Horsebox.

The Hirer/Driver will be liable to pay any Speeding fines, toll charges or congestion charges if incurred during their hire period.

All horses should be insured for transportation. Happy Horse Box Hire takes no responsibility for any injury caused to your horse whilst in our horse-box.

Please ensure your horse has a Passport. This is a legal requirement when travelling.

 Happy Horse Box Hire requires a security deposit of £100.

 Mileage limits apply. A full day hire entitles you to a maximum of 200 miles. A half day hire entitles you to 100 miles. If you need to exceed this a £0.50p per mile extra mileage charge will be applied. Milage will be checked, and deducted from the security deposit

The Horsebox can carry 1 driver and 2 passengers, as well as a limited amount of tack and other equipment. The Horsebox has 2 stalls for Horses. The Horsebox has a payload of 1100kg. It is the responsibility of the Hirer/Driver to ensure the total weight of the vehicle does not exceed 3.5 Tonnes.

Smoking and dogs are not permitted within any area of the Horsebox. Failure to comply with these rules will incur a £50.00 fine.

Happy Horse Box Hire accepts no responsibility for any damage to or loss of personal items left in the Horsebox.

 You, the hirer are liable for fuel. The horse-box will be supplied with a full tank of diesel. We ask that you replace the fuel you have used and top the tank back up, so it is again full. If the tank is not returned full, you will be charged for the fuel not replaced, and an additional £50 refuelling cost. These costs will be deducted from the security deposit.

 We ask when mucking out after use, you please remove any droppings, dirty bedding and loose hay. Any droppings that have soiled the back wall of the lorry are to be wiped clean. We shall charge a £50 cleaning fee if there is excess excrement over the walls of the horse-box. Wheelbarrow and cleaning equipment will be left next to the parking bay.

 Happy Horse Box Hire will not be liable for any of the following ; injury, damage or death to the customers horse(s) or belongings.

• Delay in collection or delivery of the horse(s)

• Emergency treatment, veterinary, physiotherapy or farrier costs to the horse(s)

• Loss of entry fees or stabling costs resulting from delay or hold ups during transport

 Before rehire, we ourselves, fully disinfect all areas that have made contact with horses, ready for the next hirer.

 You will be liable for the cost of repair for any damage caused to the horse-box by horse or driver. If damage occurs the hirer will be required to pay for the damage itself or pay our insurance policy excess of £800. Please ensure funds are available should damage occur. We simply will not accept part payment or payment plans for damage caused. You will be liable for loss of earning at £90 per day while the horse-box is out of service whilst being repaired.

There will be an opportunity to inspect the lorry for any existing damage before the journey and we encourage you to ask questions and take pictures of any existing damage should you wish.

 When the hirer returns the horse-box their £100 will be returned subject to the horse-box being in the same condition it left in. If any damage has occurred that is not deemed to require an insurance claim, Happy Horse Box Hire will refund the balance of the £100 after the cost of repairs have been estimated and repairs paid for.

 Happy Horse Box Hire may offer free night before collection. There is however NO guaranteed collection time. This is subject to the lorry’s whereabouts and return time on that day. If you wish to guarantee a night before collection at an exact time, we recommend you book a half day hire for the previous day.

 The lorry requires diesel fuel, if you should fill with the wrong fuel, you will be liable for any charges to rectify this. This cost will be deducted from the pre-authorisation.

There is a £100 charge for lost keys  

The horse box is fitted with a tracking device. The Hirer/Driver accepts that by making a booking with Happy Horse Box Hire, the Horsebox will be tracked throughout the duration of the hire.
